Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Jose is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I was craving some Indian food and this place popped up, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a Dabeli and Ragda Patties to go. I honestly LOVED the Dabeli! It was so fresh and absolutely delicious, and the chillies they gave on the side were the perfect addition. The Ragda Patties was also really good, flavorful without being too oily or greasy, which I really appreciated. I only got takeout, but they do have a few tables both inside and outside if you want to eat there. It was pretty busy when I went, so if you’re coming with a big group, I’d expect a bit of a wait or just plan to get it to go. Overall, really happy with the food and I’d definitely come back!

This is a small but efficiently run spot that clearly knows what it is doing. I had heard a lot about their vada pav through friends who kept calling it one of the best in the Bay Area, so I had to check it out. I tried the vada pav, dabeli, and ragda patties. The vada pav definitely stood out and lived up to the hype. It had great flavor and easily ended up being the highlight of the visit. The other dishes were solid as well and made for a satisfying chaat stop. The one thing that felt like a miss was the lack of Indian chai or coffee on the menu. Those drinks pair so naturally with Indian street food, and adding them would make the experience feel much more complete. Overall, it is a solid spot making good use of a compact space, and definitely worth visiting if you are craving quality Indian street food.

I'll start by saying this is more of a to go place and has an extremely limited menu. We saw the menu online and thought it was just the happy hour menu. But nope!! That IS their full menu! Now about the food - their vada paav was an all round favorite and is quite good. Not very authentic as Mumbai style but best so far. Great chutneys and amazing paav. Our group also tried paav bhaaji and Dabeli and they said both were okay. Know that the group is well acquainted with Mumbai authentic tastes and hence has a baseline. But overall both dishes were pretty decent and were polished off by the hungry lot! You enter, order and find a spot to stand while they bring the food. The place is extremely small and at rush hour, you barely have space to stand. It is best if you just plan to pick up and eat in your car, as these dishes are best enjoyed while still hot. There are 3-4 tall tables and bar stools/chairs. Overall - great food, great service, kids can eat the vada paav without the chutneys and fun experience for a casual eat out. Definitely recommend trying their vada paav!
